Hello, I’m Abby Haas and I am honored to be a classroom teacher at Day Prep. Creating personal connections and friendships with children is what inspires me to be a teacher. Each child holds a very special place in my heart. Children are, by nature, very curious, and working with children reminds me of how amazing and exciting the world can be.

After completing my degree at San Diego State, I started my career path in education as a private instruction teacher, working one on one with students from junior kindergarten to 8th grade. In my first classroom teaching kindergarten, I soon discovered a deep passion for guiding young children toward greater social and emotional awareness. I quickly realized how important emotional regulation techniques help young students learn to regulate themselves and absorb new knowledge effectively. I feel incredibly fortunate to have found Day Prep to practice my lifework. I was immediately taken by Day Prep’s reimagination of education, particularly with the focus on emotional regulation and highly individualized learning methods. I love watching students grow into their own self-confidence and explore soul qualities. It gives me great joy to help children grow and lead fulfilling lives.

In my free time like spending time in nature, camping, and exploring the history of our national parks. I also practice yoga daily and have a lovable golden retriever named Andi.
