Hello Day Prep Staff, Students, and Families!
Being a teacher at Day Prep is such a magical experience. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4thgrade at Day Prep. I am excited to be teaching at our Day Prep Canada location and look forward to building many memories this year with my students.
My educational background consists of a Bachelors in Psychology, Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and a Master of Education with Specialization in Best Practices. Best Practices focuses on teaching students using 21st century skills and here at Day Prep, our focus is providing those 21st century skills. Through my education, I have learned how to differentiate instruction to accommodate each child’s learning needs though best practice strategies.
I am born, raised, and continue to live in Poway (San Diego), CA. I grew up playing soccer for 15 years beginning at the age of 4. During my teenage years, I coached soccer camps in the summer teaching children 3 – 8 the fundamentals of how to play the game. When I stopped playing soccer, I ventured out into the mountains in my free time and began snowboarding as a hobby. With my time spent in the mountains, I was a part-time snowboard instructor for a few years at Bear Mountain in Big Bear, CA. With my love for teaching, I was happy to share my skills and passions of soccer and snowboarding with young children.
When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my fiancé Michael, 2 cats Roxy and Cali, swimming, going on hikes, exercising, and enjoying the beautiful beach of Torrey Pines we are so lucky to have here in San Diego. Also, I love watching and supporting the San Diego Padres. Go Padres!
