A calm home creates space for calmer children, more connected families, and more successful learning.
Day Prep’s Home Organization service combines thoughtful, hands-on home organization with the executive functioning strategies families need to maintain lasting change. While many organizing projects create beautiful spaces, our goal is to create homes that are easier to live in every day.
Whether your family is preparing for a move, downsizing, welcoming a new baby, simplifying daily routines, or simply feeling overwhelmed by the volume of belongings, we create practical systems that reduce stress and support the way your family actually lives.
Unlike traditional organizing services, our work doesn’t end when the bins are labeled or the shelves are arranged. We also help families develop the habits, routines, and decision-making systems that allow those spaces to stay organized over time.

A Collaborative Approach
Home Organization services are provided by Shelly Hanson, Day Prep’s Home Organization Specialist.
Shelly brings over 10 years of professional experience helping families create functional, beautiful spaces that support everyday living. Together, Shelly and Dr. Cara Day combine practical home organization with executive functioning strategies that help families maintain those systems long after the project is complete.
This collaborative approach allows us to support not only the physical environment, but also the routines and habits that make organization sustainable.
Why Home Organization Matters
Children thrive in environments that are calm, predictable, and easy to navigate.
When families spend less time searching for lost items, managing clutter, or feeling overwhelmed by their surroundings, they gain more time and emotional energy for learning, relationships, and the experiences that matter most. Distress tolerance increases. A harmonious calm has a place to reign.
An organized home can help reduce decision fatigue, support greater independence, simplify daily routines, and create spaces where children can successfully complete schoolwork, manage responsibilities, and participate more fully in family life.
Our goal is never perfection.
Our goal is creating a home that works well for your family.
Our Process
Every project begins with a consultation to understand your family’s goals, routines, challenges, and priorities.
From there, we develop a customized plan that may include:
- Sorting and decluttering
- Creating functional organizational systems
- Product recommendations and purchasing coordination
- Space planning
- Moving preparation
- New home setup
- Follow-up support as needed
Every recommendation is tailored to your family’s needs rather than a one-size-fits-all organizational method.
Executive Functioning Support
Many families we serve have children—or adults—with ADHD, autism, learning differences, or executive functioning challenges.
While organization is an important first step, lasting success depends on building systems that family members can realistically maintain.
Drawing upon Day Prep’s expertise in executive functioning, we help families establish routines, environmental supports, and practical strategies that make it easier to sustain organization over time.
Because when a home functions well, everything else becomes easier.
